New records on the third Goricatlon

This year Goricatlon took place on a beautiful sunny day with very high temperatures for this time of year. 33 teams with over 340 participants ran 3997 laps, 300 laps more then last year. The team ŠD Nanos has improved its record, which now stands at 191 laps. Specific record was reached also by the 2 ultramaraton athletes Aleksdandra Fortin (117 laps) and Sonja Leskovar (102 laps); they ran for 12 hours and had the admiration of the audience.

The first three teams by the number of completed laps:

  1. ŠD Nanos (191 laps)
  2. 28 December (177 laps)
  3. DLT Filipides (172 laps) *
  4. FORTeam (164 laps)

DLT Filipides as the organizer of the event gave the cup to the fourth-placed team FORTeam.

In addition to sports results, of course, the most important result are the funds for the charity: we have collected more then 5,188€ for the purchase of oxygen station for the VDC Nova Gorica.

The best donors this year are:

  1. GEN-I (€ 441)
  2. Deželna banka Slovenije (€ 351)
  3. MIK Celje (€ 304)

Some teams donated more funds than written in the list, but in accordance with the rules of Goricalton we count only the number of laps multiplied by the grant for the lap (1,2,3 or € 5). Additional funds donated by the teams will be added in the final lists and will be displayed separately.

Also many visitors donated 10 euros or more - the complete list of donors will be published by the end of January, when the deadline for the payment of grants and sponsorships expires.

Finally, we would like to thank all of the participants, all the sponsors and donors, especially the many volunteers that sacrificed their hours.
